Specifications:
A white suspension of highly purified and chemically modified Coxiella burnetii cells in phosphate – buffered saline with thiomersal as a preservative. A sediment is formed after a longer period of storage. The sediment can easily be resuspended by shaking. The antigen has a titer of 40.
Usage:
The antigen is used for screening of antibodies against C. burnetii in the blood serum samples of humans and animals by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). It is applied for the rapid detection and screening of C. burnetii phase II and I IgM, IgG and IgA antibodies in the areas with an increased occurrence of Q fever. Thus, this antigen is very useful for both serological survey and surveillance.
